Teddy Bear Sweaters + My Big Plans For This Summer!

Hiii! I wanted to share a quick look I put together the other day and also some short lil' stories. In a rush to get to my drawing class on time (my professor despises anyone who comes in late) I put on my favorite piece of clothing I own. This teddy bear sweater from Lazy Oaf.

I.
Literally.
Wear.
It.
Every.
Day.

It's the absolute best and I wish I could give one to every single person in the world because it brings so much happiness to my life. This was my first time styling it with something underneath it, but why not? It was a tad bit uncomfortable to wear a vintage bedroom jacket under it and I had to keep pulling the collar up all day but I loved the look so it was worth it. I had the bottom of the jacket tucked into the skirt originally, but I decided it was cuter just being itself. I pulled the skirt out of my closet for the first time in what feels like 10 years, but it's probably only been like 2 months. I think it completed the outfit and matched the sweater perfectly! If you look closely, the nose of the bear is the exact same color as the skirt. Not a big deal, but I'm a much happier gal when different elements of my outfits match perfectly. Hehe.

So this week has been so extra stressful for me and I don't even have an explanation for it. I've just been feeling a little off, meaning I'm extra-tired and just don't wanna go anywhere or do anything. I'm sure it'll pass, it always does, and luckily I'm almost out of school for the summer. I have a lot to look forward to because Kyleen is coming home with me and staying for a whole week. EEP. I have so many things planned for us to do and I absolutely can not wait to show her around my side of New Jersey. She also lives there but like 3 hours from me so it's basically a foreign country. Aside from that, I'm gonna be working in the cutest/weirdest town that is New Hope! It's probably my favorite place to be and I've been dreaming of being there again this entire semester. My best friend is also coming up from South Carolina to work with me for a month! The downside of this is that I have to leave all my friends at Urban! I've only been working there for like 4 months but I feel like it's been forever, in a good way. I've learned so much about the retail industry and it honestly made me a lot more comfortable with myself. I don't know why, I guess because none of my managers and co-workers are judge-mental and always very uplifting. I'm going to do everything I can to work there again in the Fall because it's just a lot of fun despite the stressful and frustrating moments that come with every job.

I don't have time to make a collage this week, so click on the links below to shop my look! XOXO

Perfect Day

Hello again! I've been putting off this post for a few days because Kyleen and I took so many photos I couldn't decide which to post. Scroll down to read about my really exciting evening of thrifting and sweets!

First off, we headed down to Brooklyn (again) in search of L-Train Vintage because we heard so many awesome things about it. We stopped at a coffee shop along the way, where I picked up a book on Chloe Sevigny while Kyleen ate a cup of ice cream. This little bee was enjoying the sunny weather and decided to hang onto my dress as I walked down the street. He's so cute but Kyleen had to gently scoop him off after awhile so nobody got hurt.

On our walk from the coffee shop to L-Train Vintage, we stopped short when we saw a Vintage sign on the next street over. We decided to check it out and we both fell in love. There were walls filled with vintage dresses and petticoat skirts. They also had an entire denim section! I found 2 pairs of high waisted denim jeans for $10 each. We were grabbing clothes from every section before we realized the tags said L-Train Vintage… we were so confused! It turns out L-Train Vintage has tons of locations around the city. I'm so happy we found this spot because we both found soooo many cute things! Can't wait to show you guys everything I got.

Next stop! Big Gay Ice Cream. I've never been and I was dying to try it. Overwhelmed with all their amazing flavors, I decided to go with vanilla-caramel topped with crushed Nilla Wafers and rainbow sprinkles (always). It was super tasty and I'm a huge fan of the plastic cone cover because I'm such a messy ice cream eater. Kyleen captured my graceful moments as always.

As if our day wasn't perfect enough, we also had time to visit The Cotton Candy Machine! It's my favorite art gallery in the city because it's filled with pieces from pop-surrealist artists such as Mark Ryden and Tara McPherson. My head just explodes whenever I walk through the doors. I saw so many pieces I wanted to take home with me but unfortunately I was only able to grab a few postcards. Still very happy.

Thanks for reading guys! See the links below to find out where I got my outfit!

Bangs on Bangs

Peek a boo! I just wanted to make a short little post before I drown myself in homework. I've also been dying to show everyone this darling dress from The White Pepper! I got it as a Christmas present and waited until the perfect day to wear it. I finally felt like it was time to pull it out of my closet when we had a random sunny day in New York. My goal was to wear it without a jacket because that would defeat the purpose of the dress! The sleeves make up the hair and is finished with the detail of the bangs along with the cute little eyelashes! This is honestly my idea of a perfect dress. I'm obsessed with the combination of bright red and baby pink and I was drawn to the haircut because it looks like mine! It's so simple, but extremely eye catching and adorable. I paired with a vintage handkerchief I thrifted recently.

As for the shoes…I was in a rush to get to class on time and I couldn't find the socks I originally wanted to wear. This is a regular struggle for me. I was a little iffy about pairing my navy blue frillies with my black sandals, but as the day progressed I started to really enjoy the look. The socks kept my feet nice and warm but the sandals made the outfit appear lighter and springier! Not sure if that's a word.

Also, peep Kyleen's super rad outfit. She's the queen of handkerchiefs and has been my inspiration to get my own! (I'm obviously not as good at tying them). I love her outfits and we always laugh about how different our styles are but how they seem to compliment each other at the same time.

Aaaanand that's all for today! You can expect to see some super fun posts from me next week!
XOXO

n o t h i n g

Hello again! I wanted to share this look I had the other day since wearing pants is a rare occasion for me. From the second I got out of bed shivering, I knew it was gonna be a chilly day and I simply was not in the mood to persevere through the cold in sheer tights. I found these pants when I was looking through the sale rack after my shift one day. I was compelled to buy them since there was only one pair and they were in my size! They're super funky and comfortable and I think they were a great addition to my wardrobe.

I paired them with my Lazy Oaf T-shirt which I found at American Two Shot, my absolute favorite store that I've found so far in NYC! It's the first store that I've been to that sells Lazy Oaf stuff (Urban Outfitters used to back in the day, but not anymore) so I go bananas every time I have the time to stop by. The layout of the store is the cutest..for those of you that haven't been there, you should check it out! It's located on Grand Street in Soho. When you first walk in, there's a coffee bar where you can get hot or iced coffee in a mason jar along with a sweet treat. In the back they have racks and piles of Lazy Oaf on Lazy Oaf and other amazing designers such as Hannah Metz.  She's a creative genius and I admire her aesthetic.

Now for my favorite part of any outfit...shoes and socks! I'm obsessed with putting together socks and shoes combinations that compliment the entire look. I feel like they can either make or break an outfit. For this look, I slipped on my sheer heart socks from Forever 21 and my chunky heel platforms that I found at Target! (Still in shock I found these there...) The outfit needed a statement shoe since it's fairly simple. Hope you guys like it! XOXO

Easter Outing

Dumbo, Brooklyn

Hi everyone! I'm coming back to blogger after a long hiatus. I've been dying to start posting again but going to school full time and working a retail job tends to leave me with little energy to take photos. Buuuut I'm really going to try and post whenever I can!
This weekend, my friend and I ventured out to Brooklyn to visit the cute little town of Dumbo. We love picking random places to go and finding things to do as we walk around. This trip turned out to be very successful, as we found a carousel that was only $2 per ride, tons of cute thrift stores, and a tasty Thai restaurant.

Major credit to Kyleen for these photos since she nearly fell off her horse trying to take photos of me…I'm sorry! I've literally been trying to take carousel photos for years but they always come out blurry since nobody wants to actually get on the carousel so they just stand along the outside edge and try to take a photo every time I come around. I'm so in love with how these turned out and also very happy that I have a friend who loves carousels as much I do.

I usually have my Easter outfit planned out months in advance since I absolutely LOVE Easter and the excuse to wear every pastel color at once (even though I do that anyway). This year, I didn't have as much time to plan out an outfit so I threw something together a few days before when Kyleen and I made plans to visit Dumbo. I'm wearing a vintage bedroom jacket from the 1950's that I scored from Love Saves The Day (my favorite vintage store from back home). The overalls are my most recent purchase, made by Mod Dolly. They're super comfortable, well-made, and really adorable. If you haven't heard the hype about Mod Dolly, everything is hand-made and their designs are to die for! They're currently doing a sample sale on Depop and I just bought a matching Gingham set…go check it out!

That's about it for the carousel. Here are some more photos we took before we ate the best Thai food, like ever.

I was freezing my butt off in these photos and am probably going to catch a cold.. but it's totally fine because it was for a good cause! My blog is very important to me even though I abandoned it for way too long. If you're wondering what lipstick I'm wearing, it's the new Perlees by Limecrime. I'm in love! The actual color is a little more purple and less pink that it appeared online but I'm not mad. I really like the purplish-pink color. Even better- it looks metallic and has sparkles in it :)

That's all folks! You can expect to see another post in a few days.
XOXO
